Energy-saving and Gigabit High-performance Networking Solution PLANET GSD-805 8-Port 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet Switch is a green networking solution in line with the energy-saving trend worldwide, but it comes with Gigabit wire-speed performance. Its internal power supply can be directly plugged into an electrical outlet without having to use a power adapter. VLAN Isolation The GSD-805 is equipped with the VLAN Isolation feature. When switching the DIP to the “Enable” position, ports 1 to 7 are not able to communicate with one another. This helps to prevent the IP camera’s multicast or broadcast storm from influencing one another. Saving Power by 40% The GSD-805, incorporating two advanced Green Networking technologies, is able to save power by up to 40% but maintains high performance efficiently. (1) Hibernation Link Down Power Saving The Hibernation Link Down Power Saving goes beyond IEEE specifications to automatically lower the power supply for a given port when it is not linked. With the Hibernation Link Down Power Saving technology, the GSD-805 will automatically adjust power usage of the ports that are shut down or not connected to a network device. (2) Intelligent Scales Power based on cable length Intelligent scales power, the other technology adopted, is an intelligent algorithm that actively determines the appropriate power level based on cable length. When the GSD-805 is connected with Ethernet cable shorter than 20m, a device can obtain maximum power saving because the GSD-805 would automatically detect the Ethernet cable length and diminish power usage. The connected device can substantially reduce the overall power consumption, which makes a significant contribution to energy saving. Robust Protection The GSD-805 protects against the ESD 4KV surge to improve product stability and also protects users’ networks from devastating ESD attacks, making sure the flow of operation does not fluctuate.   Leading Home, SOHO and Workgroup Users to High-speed Networking Generation Providing 16Gbps internal switching fabric, the GSD-805 can handle an extremely large amount of data in a secure topology linking to a backbone or high capacity servers. The GSD-805 provides 8K MAC address table, and wire-speed packet transfer performance without risk of packet loss. The high data throughput of the device makes it ideal for Gigabit environments, especially for the network upgraded to a Gigabit environment.   Plug & Play All RJ45 copper interfaces of the GSD-805 support 10/100/1000Mbps auto-negotiation for optimal speed detection through RJ45 Category 5, 5e or 6 cables. They support standard auto-MDI/MDI-X feature which can detect the type of connection to any Ethernet device without requiring special straight-through or crossover cables.

PLANET SGS-6340-20S4C4X is a Layer 3 Stackable Managed Gigabit Switch that provides high-density performance by its Layer 3 Gigabit static routing with 10Gbps uplink and multiple SFP fiber interfaces delivered in a rugged strong case. The administrator can flexibly choose the suitable SFP/SFP+ transceiver according to the transmission distance or the transmission speed required to extend the 10G network efficiently. Besides, with 128Gbps switching fabric, the SGS-6340-20S4C4X can handle extremely large amounts of data in a secure topology linking to backbone or high capacity servers for ISP and enterprise VoIP, video streaming, and multicast applications.

AC and DC Redundant Power to Ensure Continuous Operation
The SGS-6340-20S4C4X is equipped with one 100~240V AC power supply unit and one additional -48 ~ -60V DC power supply unit for redundant power supply installation. A redundant power system is also provided to enhance the reliability with either AC or DC power supply unit. The redundant power system is specifically designed to handle the demands of high-tech facilities requiring the highest power integrity. Furthermore, with the -48 ~ -60V DC power supply implemented, the SGS-6340-20S4C4X can be applied as the telecom level device.
Layer 3 Routing Support
The SGS-6340-20S4C4X enables the administrator to conveniently boost network efficiency by configuring Layer 3 static routing manually, the RIP (Routing Information Protocol) or OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) settings automatically. The RIP can employ the hop count as a routing metric and prevent routing loops by implementing a limit on the number of hops allowed in a path from the source to a destination. The maximum number of hops allowed for the RIP is 15. The OSPF is an interior dynamic routing protocol for autonomous system based on link-state. The protocol creates a link-state database by exchanging link-states among Layer3 switches, and then uses the Shortest Path First algorithm to generate a route table based on that database.
High Performance
The SGS-6340-20S4C4X boasts a high-performance switch architecture that is capable of providing non-blocking switch fabric and wire-speed throughput as high as 128Gbps, which greatly simplifies the tasks of upgrading the LAN for catering to increasing bandwidth demands.
